Accessing course content via Deep Links (LTI)
What is a Deep Link or LTI?
Many institutions use deep links - also known as LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) links - to give learners direct access to specific course content like assignments, quizzes, or external tools integrated into the learning platform. These links are typically shared via email, course announcements, or from the university’s learning management system (LMS).
If you’ve received a deep link and it’s not working, here’s what you should do:
- Check the source: These links are created and shared by instructors or university staff. If the link was shared with you by someone from the institution (e.g., a professor or teaching assistant), they are the best point of contact.
- Contact the link owner: Please reach out directly to the person who provided the link. They can:
- Confirm the link is still active.
- Ensure you have the correct permissions to access the content.
- Provide an updated or corrected link if necessary.
- Do not contact Technical Support first: Since these links are managed internally by course staff, our support team cannot modify or validate them. The person who shared the link is responsible for its setup and access.
Some other tips for link troubleshooting:
- Always access deep links from your institution account or LMS.
- If you’re unsure who shared the link, check your email or course messages for context.
- If the issue persists after contacting the link owner, they may escalate it to technical support if needed.
